Dr. Garay is a renowned surgeon with extensive experience at Hospital Universitari General de Catalunya, where she works as an attending physician in the General and Digestive Surgery Department, specializing in esophagogastric and bariatric surgery.
She holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona and completed her residency (MIR) in General and Digestive Surgery at Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
Her pursuit of excellence led her to complete an International Observership Program at the Cleveland Clinic (Ohio, USA), as well as specialized training in bariatric and metabolic surgery.
She is an active member of the Spanish Association of Surgeons (AEC) and has received several awards at international conferences for her research in bariatric and metabolic surgery, including the study: “Antrum preservation seems to accelerate gastric emptying after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy without having effects on weight loss”, demonstrating her strong commitment to research and continuous improvement in her field.
