Thanks to an abdominoplasty you can flaunt a flat and firm stomach. It is particularly indicated for women who have lost weight abruptly, or who have had multiple pregnancies.

Abdominoplasty, also known as abdominal lipectomy, is an operation consisting of the removal of excess skin and abdominal fat and the correction of muscle flaccidity. It is targeted at women men who wish to achieve a flat and firm abdomen and a narrower waist.

Cryosense®
Thermal cryocontrast cabinet

To accelerate recovery after an intervention, we complement the treatment with 3-minute cryotherapy sessions, in which in just a few seconds it goes from +80ºC to -196ºC.

Quick and comfortable sessions with excellent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, in which the immune system is also stimulated.

Benefits

The removal of excess skin and fat from the abdomen and the strengthening of the abdominal muscles eliminates what is colloquially known as the “gut.”

Are you the ideal candidate?

Ideal candidates are those women who have a relatively good figure, but are concerned about the accumulation of fat or excess skin in the abdominal area, where they have seen no improvement despite efforts involving diet and exercise. This surgery is especially beneficial for women who have had multiple pregnancies.

The procedure

The surgeon makes two incisions: one just above the pubic area, from hip to hip, and another around the navel. He then separates the skin tissue, tightens the abdominal muscles with sutures, and removes the excess skin and fat. Finally, he closes the incision. If you only have an accumulation of fat in the area below the navel, a less complex procedure called a mini-abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, may be sufficient. Abdominoplasties and mini-abdominoplosties are always performed in our operating rooms, under general anaesthesia, and require a one-night stay. A complete abdominoplasty usually takes 2-4 hours, and a mini abdominoplasty, 1-2 hours.

Postoperative recovery

During the first few days the abdomen is usually somewhat swollen, and you may experience some discomfort or pain. The external stitches will be removed in 5 to 7 days. You will leave the operating room with an abdominal stretch bandage, to be worn for one month.

Back to normal

You’ll feel as good as ever after a few weeks. If your pre-surgery physical condition was good, your recovery will be even faster. And you’ll be fully recovered after 2-4 weeks. Exercise helps you to recuperate sooner.

The results

Abdominoplasties, whether complete or mini, yield excellent results. In most cases the results are permanent, as long as you eat a balanced diet and get regular exercise. The scars will not be visible, even when wearing bikini.

Our guarantee

Every year we perform successful abdominoplasties. Patients can rely on our qualified plastic surgeons. However, as is the case with any surgery, there is some level of risk. To minimise this, it is essential to carefully follow our plastic surgeons’ instructions, both before and after surgery.
