With a minilifting you will rejuvenate your face through a simpler procedure, halting signs of ageing and feeling younger and more self-assured.
The effects of time, sun exposure and stress vanish thanks to this technique, which yields great results, while being simpler than the traditional facelift procedure. With a minilifting you can enjoy a natural and stable rejuvenation effect.
Type of procedure
Outpatient, with local anaesthesia and sedation.
1 – 2 weeks.
A 2 – 2.5 hour procedure.
Your face will be rejuvenated, minimising wrinkles, lines and folds. You will gain in firmness and skin tone without losing your face’s natural look and expression. All this, with a faster and less invasive procedure offering a shorter recovery time.
Are you the ideal candidate?
If you are a woman who has begun to notice some sagging in the face, but whose skin retains some elasticity, you are the ideal candidate. Most patients are between 40 and 50 years of age, but it can also be successfully performed on those ages 50 – 60.
It consists of repositioning the middle and lower thirds of the face exhibiting signs of ageing. The incision is made about half as long as that made for a traditional facelift. Miniliftings are usually performed on an outpatient basis, under local anaesthesia and sedation, although it is also possible to be admitted to the hospital, receive general anaesthesia, and stay overnight. The surgery usually lasts 2 – 2½ hours.
Every year we perform successful minilifting procedures. Patients can rely on our qualified plastic surgeons. However, as is the case with any surgery, there is always the possibility of complications. To minimise this risk, especially if you are a smoker, it is imperative that you carefully follow our plastic surgeons’ instructions, both before and after surgery.
After surgery we usually apply a light bandage and a tube behind the ears to drain any fluid that might have accumulated. The drainage tubes are removed after 24 hours, and the bandages, between 1 and 5 days after the minilifting procedure. We remove most of the stitches after 5 days.
Back to normal
The next day you may resume a normal life, but without straining yourself. For a couple of days you will need to keep your head elevated and as still as possible. In two weeks you will be able to go back to work.
