The procedure
It consists of repositioning the middle and lower thirds of the face exhibiting signs of ageing. The incision is made about half as long as that made for a traditional facelift. Miniliftings are usually performed on an outpatient basis, under local anaesthesia and sedation, although it is also possible to be admitted to the hospital, receive general anaesthesia, and stay overnight. The surgery usually lasts 2 – 2½ hours.

Postoperative recovery
After surgery we usually apply a light bandage and a tube behind the ears to drain any fluid that might have accumulated. The drainage tubes are removed after 24 hours, and the bandages, between 1 and 5 days after the minilifting procedure. We remove most of the stitches after 5 days.
Back to normal
The next day you may resume a normal life, but without straining yourself. For a couple of days you will need to keep your head elevated and as still as possible. In two weeks you will be able to go back to work.
